Contact the desk
There is one editorial mailbox, editor@benuerulesng.com, and it is for corrections, sources and questions about what the pages say.
The one mailbox
All editorial mail goes to editor@benuerulesng.com. There is no second address, no phone line and no contact form that routes to a sales desk. If you write about a page, put the page address and the sentence you are questioning in the message so it can be found and checked without a long exchange.
We do not promise a response time. Mail is read when it is read, and a correction that needs a source check may take longer than a simple typo. Sending the same message more than once does not speed it up.
What the desk will and will not help with
The desk will explain what a page means, point you to the broker document a figure came from, and take a correction with a source. It will not help with an account problem, a login, a deposit, a withdrawal, a frozen balance or fund recovery. Those are between you and the broker, and the desk has no access to any account.
The desk also will not give personal advice: no view on whether you should buy or sell gold, no position sizing for your own money, no opinion on whether a specific trade will work. Gold CFDs carry a high risk of loss, and a decision about your own funds has to be yours, made with the broker's current terms in front of you.
How long a reply takes and what changes the timing
A straightforward factual question about a page on this site usually gets a reply within two working days. That covers messages that name the instrument, the platform, or the exact sentence you are asking about. A question that needs us to check a regulator register or a published source can take longer because we verify before replying. We do not promise a fixed number of hours, and we do not run a live chat or a phone line. The desk is a written mailbox, so the response time depends on how complete your first message is and how many messages are ahead of yours.
Correction requests are read before general questions because an error on a live page misleads every reader who sees it. If your message identifies a wrong fact with a source, expect it to be looked at first, even if it arrived after a general question. A general question that is missing the instrument code, the platform name, or the exact wording will wait while we ask for those details, which adds a round trip. A message that includes everything needed in the first send is answered faster than one that arrives in several parts. We do not send an automated holding reply, so if you have not heard back, your message is still in the queue.
Timing also depends on what you are asking about. A question about a published leverage figure can take longer because the figures for Nigeria are conflicting: up to 1:200 via the offshore entity is the maximum we state, and one review cited 1:30/1:20 caps that were not verified at review. We will not resolve that conflict in a quick reply, and we will not invent a number to close the message. A question about a platform menu or a formula is usually quicker because the answer is fixed. Messages sent over a weekend or a Nigerian public holiday are read on the next working day.
Questions we answer and questions that need a licensed adviser instead
We answer questions about how the instrument works, how margin and pip values are calculated, what a platform feature does, and what a published fact on this site means. For gold, that includes explaining that 1 standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, and walking through the arithmetic of a worked example such as the $85.50 margin needed for a 0.10-lot position at 1:200 via the offshore entity. We can also explain the difference between a cap and a setting: 1:200 is a maximum available through that entity, not a target you should use. We do not answer questions that require us to judge whether a trade is a good idea for you.
We cannot give personal trading advice, tell you whether to buy or sell gold, suggest a position size for your account, or comment on your open trades. That is a regulated activity, and we are not your adviser. If your message asks 'should I hold my XAU/USD position over the weekend' or 'what lot size should I use with ₦500,000', we will not answer it as asked. We can explain how swap is charged for holding overnight and how margin is calculated, but the decision and the risk remain yours. Trading gold with leverage can lose more than your initial margin, so any advice specific to your finances must come from a licensed professional.
We also cannot confirm whether a broker is safe for you to use, beyond pointing you to the exact regulator caveat: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. We can explain what that sentence means and how to check the register, but we cannot tell you that any firm is suitable for your circumstances. Questions about whether a specific return is realistic, whether a strategy will work, or whether now is a good time to trade are outside what we answer. Those are personal advice questions and belong with a licensed adviser who can see your full financial position.
What to send for a pricing question, a platform question, or a correction
For a pricing question, send the exact instrument code (XAU/USD), the position size in lots, and the time and date of the quote you are asking about. State whether you mean the spread, commission, or swap, because each is calculated differently and we cannot answer a general 'what are your fees' message. If your question is about the cost of a 0.10-lot gold position, say so and include the leverage you were using; at 1:200 via the offshore entity that position needs about $85.50 margin, but the cost of holding it depends on the spread at entry, any commission, and the swap if held overnight. We do not publish a single number for any of those because they change with the market and the account type.
For a platform question, name the platform (MT4, MT5, cTrader, or FxPro Edge), the device and operating system, and the exact error message or behaviour you saw. A message like 'MT5 will not open on my phone' cannot be answered without the version number and a screenshot of the error. If the issue is about logging in, say whether you are on the demo or live server and whether the password works on the web platform. Do not send your password, your card number, or your full bank account details; we never need those to answer a platform question, and sending them creates a security risk for you.
For a correction, send the URL of the page, the exact sentence you believe is wrong, and the source that shows the correct fact. A correction is not a request to change an opinion; it must point to a verifiable error such as a wrong instrument code, a wrong formula, or a regulator detail that does not match the official register. If the error is about leverage, include the exact ratio you believe is correct and where it is published, because leverage figures for Nigeria are conflicting and we will not change a stated cap without a citable source. We check corrections against the facts we were given and against the SEC Nigeria register where relevant.
What the desk cannot do and where those requests actually go
The desk cannot access your trading account, reset your password, release a withdrawal, or recover funds. Those actions belong to your broker, and for FxPro the entity that serves Nigeria is FxPro Markets Direct Costa Rica Latam SRL. If you have a login problem, a deposit that has not arrived, or a withdrawal that is stuck, contact your broker's own support channel and quote your account number there, not here. We do not have a connection to any account system, and sending us your account details does not speed anything up. We also cannot confirm a deposit method beyond the list we can discuss: local NGN bank transfers, Visa/Mastercard debit cards, e-payments, and crypto.
The desk cannot give personal trading advice, and it cannot act as your adviser on a dispute. If you believe a broker has treated you unfairly, the route is the broker's formal complaint process first, then the relevant regulator. For a firm operating in Nigeria, the local authority to check is the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators, and the regulator caveat we hold is: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. We can explain what that caveat means, but we cannot pursue a complaint for you or tell you the outcome you should expect.
The desk cannot answer questions that require a number we were not given. We do not state a spread, a commission, a swap, or a minimum deposit as a number, so a message asking 'what is your spread on gold' cannot be answered with a figure. We can explain what the cost consists of and what it depends on, such as the spread at entry, any commission, and the swap if the position is held overnight. We also cannot confirm a leverage ratio beyond the cap we hold: up to 1:200 via the offshore entity, with one review citing 1:30/1:20 caps that were conflicting and not verified at review. A request for a different ratio will be answered by explaining that cap, not by naming a new one.
What a message must contain before an answer is possible
A useful message names one subject, states the exact page or platform, and gives the specific figure or wording you are asking about. For a gold question, include the instrument code XAU/USD, the lot size, and the leverage you are using if margin is involved. For a platform question, include the platform name from MT4, MT5, cTrader, or FxPro Edge, plus the device and the error text. For a correction, include the URL and the sentence. A message that says only 'your gold page is wrong' or 'how do I deposit' cannot be answered because it does not identify the page, the method, or the problem.
State what you have already checked. If you have looked at the SEC Nigeria register, say so and say what you found. If you have tried a funding method, name it from the list we can discuss: local NGN bank transfers, Visa/Mastercard debit cards, e-payments, or crypto. Do not send screenshots of your bank balance, your card number, or your login credentials; those are not needed and create a risk for you. If your question is about margin, show your arithmetic so we can see where the two of you differ. A message with your working is answered faster than one that asks us to guess what you did.
Keep the message in plain text and in English. Do not send a link to a file that requires a download, and do not send a voice note. One question per message is easier to answer than five unrelated questions in one thread. If you are asking about a worked figure, quote it exactly: at 1:200 via the offshore entity, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin. If your figure differs, say what leverage and what lot size you used. A message that quotes the figure and the leverage is answerable; a message that says 'the margin looks wrong' is not, because there is nothing to check against.
No guest posts, no sponsored reviews, no paid placement
The desk does not accept guest posts, sponsored reviews, link insertions, advertorials or paid placement at any price. Mail offering any of these is declined, and there is no rate card to negotiate because there is no slot to sell. The only commercial relationship on the site is the affiliate link, and it never buys a rating.
If you are a broker or an agency, the useful thing to send is a document: the entity that serves Nigeria, the funding methods it accepts, and the date the terms were published. That goes into the ordinary check like any other source. It does not buy a page, a ranking or a removal.
How a correction request is checked and what we change
A correction request is checked against the original facts we were given and against the source you supply. If the page states a number or a formula that does not match those facts, we change the page and note the correction. If the page states a regulator caveat, we check it against the exact wording we hold: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. We do not change that sentence to a stronger claim, and we do not add a licence that is not in the facts. A correction that asks us to praise a cost or a spread will be refused because we were not given a number for it.
We correct errors of fact, not differences of opinion. If you believe a sentence is misleading but every stated fact in it is accurate, we will read your point but we may not change the text. If you believe a number is wrong, show the correct number and where it is published. For gold, the fixed facts are that 1 standard lot is 100 oz, one pip is 0.01, and the reference price is about 4275.0. A message claiming a different pip value or a different lot size for XAU/USD will be checked against those facts. We do not accept a correction that asks us to state a spread, commission, swap, or minimum deposit as a number, because those were not provided.
When a correction is accepted, the page is edited and the change stands in the live text. We do not run a public corrections log with names or dates, and we do not credit the sender, because we do not publish author names. We also do not debate a correction indefinitely: once the source has been checked and the page either changed or left as is, the matter is closed. If your source is a forum post or a screenshot without a citable origin, we will not treat it as proof. A regulator register entry or an official publication is the kind of source that can settle a correction about licensing or leverage.
